"If I belittle those I am called to serve, talk of their weak points in contrast with what I think of as my strong points; if I adopt a superior attitude forgetting "who made thee to differ"and "what hast thou that thou has not received"?
Then I know nothing of Calvary Love."
— Amy Carmichael
We can easily have an attitude that puts on that "we" are something. Nevertheless, we are truly nothing without Him. What we have now is only what He has given. Instead of trying to put our worth in what is perishing, what we think we have, we must SEEK Him in prayer to have in the same attitude of Christ. He was God, yet didn't even think that as any importance. It may seem impossible but He will help us.
"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Galatians 5:13

"If I have not compassion on my fellow servant, even as the Lord had pity on me, then I know nothing of Calvary Love."
My prayer is to be more rooted and grounded in this love, this Calvary love - being willing to give and be poured out so His rivers of living water might flow through.— Amy Carmichael
Today the Father brought up this to light in my heart as I went along my day. I've found that, when other people say things to make me "feel" small and do certain things to get me annoyed, the Father allows this to reveal my heart.
Do we have His love? Will we say something hurtful back to them? They may not even see they are doing this, but will we not have compassion? This Calvary Love which was willing to give, full of compassion, not only for His fellow-servant, but for even the worst sinner. Do we know the heights and depths, length and width of His love for us? Can we not even have this love to those whom we are close to? Does the Father not have compassion on me?
The Father warned me not to say a word in defence, but He impressed on my heart to be quiet in this moment. He revealed my heart, He didn't want me to utter a word, especially since He revealed another area of work in my own heart.
Rather than "saying" all the right words, He reminded me also He wants each of us to first seek to live them - walking in that Calvary love - our lives willing to be poured out for HIM.
